Innovating Rather than Reinventing

  • Innovating Rather than reinventing, we should start from scratch; instead of just iterating on something, we need to build from scratch.
  • Many companies are choosing to stay remote, and we have to think of what work looks like after COVID-19. How will we connect in the digital world?
  • We already had horrible systems in place and our country is not set up in a way where no parents and mothers can succeed due to the structure in place.
  • We need to be challenging the perspectives we have and the viewpoints that we have. Job sharing creates opportunities for people to do, allowing two people to do a job part-time. Turn the system on its head.

Role of Mental Health in D&I

  • The role of Mental Health in D&I was already in a mental health crisis before COVID and has increased.
  • What are we doing to create psychological safety in D&I? It’s been essential to creating effective initiatives. When keeping this in mind, companies have to dedicate time to these specific initiatives.
  • There is a lot of what needs to be said about changing the stigma of mental health; the most significant barrier is what’s going on in your mind if you don’t have an avenue to share your feelings.
  • You’re putting the icing on the cake, but not making sure it’s baked.
